The books I have are from 2003. Are these still useful for the current MCAT or are they outdated?

Outdated. Content changed a lot for the 2015 MCAT.

I saw they have new 101 passages books, do they also have new 1001 questions books or are they the same thing?

I feel like the practice problems from the new official guide/Khan have been all application questions not "if I throw this rock off of a building blah blah blah."

No, the new books are completely different. They contain a lot of experimental passages. The old 1001 books only had discretes and they're pretty much garbage now
