  1. Attending Physician
Hello everyone,
I start M3 next Monday, and I am leaning heavily toward Pediatrics. I start with Internal Medicine (cardiology then ID then wards) followed by Surgery, and then I have a month of elective time before I have Neurology. I won't have Pediatrics until January. I was thinking about maybe trying out Peds Cardiology or Peds ID, but I'm not sure. I could really use some suggestions on what to do with my elective time, please. Thank you!

Peds ID is nothing like adult ID. While my friends on adult ID were running around all the time seeing new consults and trying to staff them with fellows, I was sitting in the library reading. My current hospital, which has a Peds ID fellowship, still has the attendings going out and playing golf all the time.

Peds cardiology, though, is pretty interesting. Peds Endo is also pretty interesting if you have enough volume to see more than just type 1 diabetes.
