hey, i am applying this cycle and i just have a quick question.

i completed most of recommended biology and other courses for dental school. and all i have to take is like 7 electives.

i concentrated on major and chem classes in last 3 years of college and

i am considering taking at least 1-2 electives in community college so that i could save some money.

do you think this will affect me getting into dental school?

i heard its only credit that is transferred to my college if you take classes in other institution (b/c its either pass/fail)

so,.,, my electives are maybe history and literatures..

what do you say?

there should be no problems with this.

however, i would like to "correct" you. you seem to be confused about what your university wants and what dental schools wants.

you said you completed the "recommended" classes. i am not sure if you are talking about recommended or required. i think you mean to say you completed their requirements.

the electives you need to take are for completeing your degree. the dental schools dont care about those electives. they might make you look more well rounded.

just a side note there are a few dental schools that require elective classes. i know UCLA wants you to take psychology. i took psychology at a CC.

lastly, you university will look at CC classes as pass/fail, but dental schools will look at the grade. so make sure you get As in those CC classes or its going to screw up your gpa when you apply to dental school.

AADSAS is a website you use to apply to dental school. they will calculate a gpa that is a combination of ALL the universities/colleges you have been to.

edit: grammar errors

thanks for posting.

so,, i meant to ask you about the electives ( like courses that you have

to complete to get a degree b/c most dental schools want you to have bs degree before you get in), i already took most of the recommended ( upper biology classes like cell, genetic, anatomy, bacteriology, physiology, biochem)

so you are saying that it does not matter where you take those electives as long as you ace them right?

the only reason that i am taking my electives at cc is to save some money,
and i will probably taking English Literature and American history.
