I got an email from one of the interview professors today to congratulate my acceptance and ask what concerns I have. I feel that Uconn really cares about us and it's definitely my top 1 choice! 😍😍

I got one from mine too, I thought it was very kind of them. Girl, I better see you in my class!! 🙂

Wow that is really cool that they take the initiative to write a personal letter to you, what a cool touch. Those are the schools that really care about their students and really care about accepting top students into their program. Congratulations to all of you who got accepted to Uconn!

I was just wondering is everyone who recieved an email in-state?

I am OOS, and did not recieve anything 🙁 , but I still got accepted so heyyyyy.

Nope! I'm oos as well and got one.

So jealous.

I can't wait for the offical letter to come in the mail! 😀

FYI- It is coming via UPS "mail freight." I can see it in UPS's system but I don't know when precisely it will arrive to my house.

That's amazing. It's a good feeling to know that they truly respect their students and realize that we are no longer some "rando applicant" with a few good test scores, but rather the people they are going to build into amazing leaders and future dentists!

I didn't get one either so I'm slightly jealous too haha. It's super nice of the interviewers to do that though! I've been so excited the past couple of days that it's been a struggle to sit down and actually do anything productive, like study for exams this week...

I think they are still sending the emails out. They need time to write it because it was really personalized email. My interviwer even mentioned the name of the dentist I shadowed with.

Wait is an acceptance package supposed to come in the mail? All I got was an email from Tricia??

We are getting official letters in addition to the acceptance email?

what would you say your top five are?? Im also wondering is there a reason why noone has specialized at tufts or bu from uconn in the past five years? Does uconn give us a much better chance of getting accepted to a specialty than say Tufts?

above question was meant for petuniaf but if any others want to tell me I would be more than interested to hear

From what I understand, come 4th year those that want to specialize are usually able to (at UConn). Most students here do a residency of sorts (including GPR, AEGD), and a large percentage do end up specializing. The exact numbers I don't know. 👍

One last question...although I have so many, my girlfriend a 3rd yr dental student is sayin since the boards are pass fail universities have to rely on gpa for admittance to specialties. Since uconn is pass/fail does this have any effect on our chances as this is a recent change

I don't want to detract from the OP's thread, so I will reply via PM 👍
