i got an interview invitation from Emory last night via email. anyone else? its kind of weird that they only give us one specific date to come and interview...anyone have any experiences interviewing at Emory they would like to share?

just curious Brown04, when was your file complete with them? Mine has been complete for about 2 weeks now, and they said it is still in the committee being reviewed....?? thanks!

i got an email from them on Sept 2nd saying that my file was complete and in the review process. then email on 10th or 11th inviting me for interview. hope that helps.

The emory interview was ok. you have a panel interview which is kinda weird since they dont really have you interact with other interviewees in your panel, and an solo interview with a faculty member. Dont get stressed out by the panel interview, its slightly awkward but its really not bad. bring some extra comfortable shoes to switch into (they encourage you too), cause after the interview the tour is looooooong and they'll take you through both emory's campus and a tour of grady memorial in downtown atlanta.

I didnt stay with a student host (since i was an emory student at the time 😉 ) but i would definitely suggest doing so, especially if they can drive you around, atlanta isnt a very public transit/pedestrian friendly city.

one thing i would advise, if you're flying into atlanta, DO NOT under any circumstances take a taxi straight from the airport to the emory area. It will be a) very expensive with a potential long wait on I-85 and b) the taxi drivers in atlanta suck and many times have no idea where they are going. i'd take the MARTA rail north (which picks up right at the airport) to lindbergh center for $1.75, and either take a cab, take the 6 bus, or have your student host pick you up if he or she is that nice, to take you to the emory area.

you'll find they also have one of the nicest admissions offices around too. Dr Eley and Dr Lee and Erica and Stephanie rock 😍

nice. thanks for the info DW. i appreciate it. i may have to PM you once i get this thing all set up.
