Hi! Kind of an out-there idea for employment in NYC while taking prereqs...go and work in the morgue at the medical examiner. Go to Applicant Home and scroll down to "Forensic Pathology Technician." I was just rotating there and they are apparently always looking. You will learn a TON of medicine because you watch autopsies all day. Plus, in Manhattan at least, your colleagues are incredibly friendly and mellow. I wish I had thought of this when I was a premed.
