EMT-B job placement??

for those of you who have gotten their EMT certification, how exactly do you find jobs? does the class that you take often hook you up with a job or point you in the direction?

im seriously considering taking this EMT class, but i dont want it to be all for not and have a hard time finding a job... could someone please shed some light on this?

i'm in tampa, if anyone knows info on this area, i'd appreciate it
