I finished my last midterm on friday.

Thats right, midterm. Rather than finishing my first semester, Im done with 1 and a half trimesters (meaning i have 4 more weeks before i finish anatomy, physio, etc). Ahhhh well, alcohol now, study later!! 😎

We have blocks of eight weeks instead of semesters. The block ended last Wednesday. We had our anatomy practical on Monday, clinical skills exam on Tuesday, and final on Wednesday. The scores for the final were posted a few hours ago, and it looks like I passed the block! 😀

I finished last Thursday, did hardcore Step One review up until yesterday, then hit a brick wall. Now the ennui is driving me up the wall. I just want to get back in the melee and finish this nightmare.

Oops.. I missed the memo and am responding after sobering up. 😉 Yay! We're done... for like 10ish days...can I just say how envious I am of those of you w/ three week breaks! Argh. I know it's blasphemous...but I am so freaking bored. Not that I want to jump into Neuro. but I don't know what to do w/ myself all freaking day. And what am I gonna do next semester with no anatomy lab taking all afternoon?? Frightening. 🙂 I'm only slightly kidding. Anywhoot... hope all ya'll have a blast over break with your loved ones. Peace oooot! 😍

how long are most of your winter breaks? ours at KU if fcuking way short. dec. 18-jan 2. the main campus in lawrence is out dec. 18 - jan 20... I MISS UNDERGRAD.

speaking of which, has anyone else sort of stopped reeling from the whirlwhind of med school to realize they really miss some of the things they used to have time for? like fun, for instance?

during the semester it wasn't so bothered by this feeling; i mean a little, but now that i don't have like 8 exams coming it seems that i miss some of the stuff i used to be about back when in had time to be about anything other than physiology and anatomy. hopefully i keep things more in perspective in the future; but the cynical realist is laughing at the back of this thought pointing out how few people i know that actually have become more interesting during med school.

ok, sounds like i need a zoloft and a beer. only only 5 more days to try and rebalance the chemicals is in my brain using as many recreational pharmaceuticals as possible.
