Our idea is to use this thread to keep endo applicants up to date about what's happening with interviews. This will help us know when certain schools are calling, interviewing, offering spots, etc. It will be good for next years applicants also for an informal reference. I'll get us started:

I applied, haven't heard anything, but past years' threads seem to indicate they are one of the first ones to interview. Waiting and watching😕

Well.. contacted Univ. of Washington today. Website says that application deadline was extended to September 1st. Secretary said they should be contacting people within the next couple of days. Good luck to all

That is good to know, thanks for that, I'm hoping to hear from them--any idea how many people they interview and how many spots?

The website says they take 3-4 residents per year. I'm thinking they'll interview 40-50 people for those positions, but I really did not ask. It'll be a nerve racking week. Good luck to all

40-50, really? That seems like a lot, I know Minnesota interviews 14 people for 4 spots and that seems like pretty good odds to me, but if they interview more, I guess its more likely to get an invite🙂

Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part. Haven't heard from anyone yet...

I applied to OHSU and UW as well. Haven't heard anything from either school yet.
 
Won't comment on UW, but I don't think that OHSU has contacted anyone yet. They are behind the usual schedule. approx 14 interviews expected. Two batches of 6-7 in September; probably on consecutive Wednesdays. I think most programs interview 12-15 and receive 60-100 applications. Some of the larger programs may get more...don't know.

No, I was joking. No invite for me on that one. I was dreading hearing about one of the schools I applied to offering interviews, and not getting one. I guess the time has now come.

That's why I want you to pass on a couple of the other interviews. Help out my chances...😉
 
Sorry dlux. I thought you were joking, but it wouldn't have been cool for me to call the joke if you weren't. It would have been cool to see you in Lincoln. I wonder if endoking applied to Nebraska or if the whole Creighton/UNL rivalry was too much.

You'll be all right. I promise to pass on all of my interviews if I get an offer from a school I want to go to. Keeping my fingers crossed.
 
OHSU has started making calls. I don't know if additional calls will be made or not. If the initial people don't respond, then I'd assume they will call in a few more.
 
EDL, congrats on the UW call. Didn't hear from them (hopefully they'll make another batch of phone calls). Anybody heard from OHSU? backaction said they started making calls. Good luck to all

I actually didn't apply to Nebraska, but not because of the rivalry😳, I was told they required the GRE which I didn't take, so I didn't bother applying there, also the endo faculty at my school are fairly close with the UNL faculty and the unwritten rule is that they will offer interviews to current Creighton students, but they never offer them spots because they want more experience, hopefully you can buck that trend Loco
 
I'm pretty sure they require the GRE for matriculation (if you get in) but not to apply. A friend of mine went to school there and he told me that they like to have one resident with post-grad experience and one straight out of school. He went there a few years ago, so that may have changed, but I'm interested to see the school. I interviewed there for dental school and really liked it (would have saved me about $150 k).

...now if only I could get tickets to the Nebraska/USC game that weekend...

This would have been good information to have, oh well. (thanks for nothing ASDA guide to postgrad programs 👎) Go Huskers!
 
I agree. Remember when I thought the Nebraska deadline was in October? Those post-doctoral guides were a waste of money...interesting to skim, but not reliable at all.
 
Geesh, sure am glad I didn't end up buying that PostDoctoral Guide :laugh:

The VA interview is only 45 minutes long, though we're allowed to "wander and ask questions" for as long as we want. They have 8 time slots per day, so I assume they'll interview 32 applicants for their two spots.

I've got family in Huntington Beach that would love me to go to the VA Long Beach program, but I think it's a long shot straight out of school. 32 interviews seems like a lot for two spots.

I don't really know if they have 32 interviews. I was just guessing by doing the math. 6 months ago my mother-in-law found out how much endodontists make and told me I should go. I told her it's very competitive and even though I absolutely love endo, I have absolutely no shot. But I applied anyways, and it's been a pleasant surprise. So maybe you're like me. Maybe we think it's much worse than it really is. Either way, there's still plenty of time to get an interview offer from the VA. Thanks for the good wishes, and I offer the same for you too.

Ok, than I give it up to dlux and hope that other threads can emulate us.

Two serious q's for all of us early interviewees😉:

1) How can we find studentdoctor postings from 2006 that may help us for our interviews- I searched for this for half an hour and couldnt find last year's statements and responses

2)Any of you guys know anything other than the fact that we have a 45min interview each by Drs. Rankin and Green.. ie.. qs they may like to ask?
