English requirement prereq for medschool

so most med schools require 2 semesters of english. I have taken one semester of english in college, and I also have AP credit from getting a 4 on the AP Literature test. Will my AP credit be accepted by med schools as an official "semester of english"? Does anyone know of any medical schools specifically that do NOT accept AP as a semester?

i bet it will be accepted, but even if it's not, most schools accept a bunch of other things for english credit. i only had one semester of english in undergrad but had a bunch of philosophy classes and those counted. just call and ask them.

You have to check with the school.

I've heard literature classes falling under the "history" category. You would need to take another semester of English.

It varies from school to school. Look up the specific requirements for the school of interest.

my sincere belief is not to take any AP credit for the required pre-req's. So since English is a required pre-req what I would do is a year of composition (one semester of a course like scientific writing would be good) and a semester of literature....

its fne taking AP for courses like history, psychology, etc... but not for the required pre-req's
general bio, chem, orgo, physics, and english

i really believe they wanna see a letter grade for the required pre-req which AP's just dont tell..... there is a reason that these courses are REQUIRED....
