I heard you need 2 from science and 1 from non-science.

I have one science, one non-science, and one from shadowed physician, but here's my question:

My school has a "committee" letter and a bunch of different science professors are part of the committee. Does this count as a science LOR?

Do I need any more?

I think that would be enough. From my understanding, a Committee Letter pretty much trumps the specific requirements of a school. At least that's the understanding I got from my school. Ask your premed adviser (or whoever writes the CL).

the committee letter most of the time has all the letters that med schools ask 🙂

but when you're finishing up your secondary applications, be sure to note who are the science professor or non-science professors. some times the school's secondary applications ask you to write down the name of the professors and what field they are in.

Whoa, hold on a second. So the committee letter takes care of EVERYTHING? That does make sense since I would get a letter from 5 different professors who are part of this committee.

Because I was actually planning on asking 2 professors who WEREN'T a part of the committee, but now you guys are telling me that all the LOR requirements are met by this single committee letter?

So should I even bother asking the other two?
