Hello everyone,
I'm a third year allpying to ENT this summer, but I'm having some difficulty putting my finger on which programs are regarded as top notch. I would guess Mass Eye and Ear and Hopkins, but I've also heard Iowa, Michigan, and UNC thrown in... any ideas?
Thanks!
PD

Univesity of Iowa is consistently well ranked. The facilities are gorgeous and ENT rules the hospital according to many's view.
I have only met maybe 1/3 of attendings but they are amazingly nice and supportive. In particular, the peds oto attendings are without exception very intelligent and very nice people. Good luck with your search!

An attending at my school did ENT at U of I and then a fellowship in facial rejuvination at the latcschky? clinic in beverly hills. He said Iowa is consistently regarded as # 1 or 2

Check out www.otomatch.com for more information. The good thing about Oto/HNS is that there are quite a few fantastic programs. You can break down the best by region:

East: Hopkins, Pitt, MEEI
South: Vanderbilt, UNC, Baylor
Midwest: Michigan, Iowa, Wash U
West: UCLA, U Wash, Stanford

You could probably add a few more but these are generally regarded as the best. There is considerable difference in strengths of each program and some on this list are considered to be malignant. The only way to tell for sure if you would like to train there is to apply, hope for an interview, and gather info while visiting.

I just matched in Oto/HNS today. Its a geat field and I wish you the best in next year's match.
