Noob question regarding the enthalpy of formation...

I know when you're dealing with equilibrium / solubility product constants, you pretty much ignore solids and liquids, but when you're doing the enthalpy of formation questions, do you take their delta H into account?

The only thing you would ignore when you're doing enthalpy of formation type of questions is the enthalpy change of an element right?

yes you are right... the reason you do not include them in eq constants equations is because solids and liquids have an activity of 1 which would have no effect on the numerator or denominator... this has nothing to do with heat of formation so you have to use the dH for those
