WHat do you guys think of a recommendation letter from a first year resident in Emergency Medicine? Any weight?

as an *additional* letter I think it should be fine. Most additional letters testifying to your interest just add to your application. Besides, he/she is presumably just 3 weeks away from being PGY2!

ps of course the higher up the totem poll you can go the better. For this reason some people get the resident who knows you well to write it, and ask if it could be co-signed by the program director...it all depends on your relationship with these people.
