Im using it, but I gave my attending a note with it explaining that it's early in the process, and to save a copy of the letter in case it needs to be resent
Its really not that useful because you won't have your ERAS ID number yet. In addition, most people argue against having early letters because the date will be way off from when you are applying. That said, you CAN ask for one early but especially if it gets sent to a school early you risk it getting lost.
