hey guys, how long can my essay be in terms of word count. it says 28,000 characters, but what is the longest i can have or should have ???
thanks

28,000 is technically the limit as coded by the ERAS software, but no PD will read anything beyond 1 page.

so you are saying if its like 1 page and 5 lines they throw away the 5 lines???seriously???that dooesnt make sense to me that people claim there is the absolute one page rule????

dude, obviously it's not THAT strict. but more or less around 1 p. ive heard max is 1 p and 1/5th of next page. but use a little judgement of course -- if your essay is stellar and it goes beyond 1 p of course u can keep the extra few lines

thanks bro

I was told by both my faculty advisor and the program director at my school that my one and a half page essay was far too long. Both told me that faculty members are often reading several dozen of these things and that longer essays are usually not read closely.

Well, my advisor said my 1 1/4 page essay was fine.

both of my advisors said if you are writing a borring story 1 page if it is interesting no more than 1 1/2 pages....

how bad is it to have submitted and have had 1-2 minor typos in the PS?

eek.

Create a new document in which you fix them, then unassign the bad one and re-assign the good one. If programs have not PRINTED your PS yet, they will not have access to the old copy.
