So on page 390 it says that Von Willebrand Disease is diagnosed by a ristocetin cofactor assay and in parenthesis it says that if the test shows decreased agglutination then it is diagnostic. But shouldn't it show decreased adhesion to diagnose Von Willebrand Disease? Is this an error?

inconsequential, no question will ever ask you to delineate between the two scenarios.

and I think the assay is testing w/e or vWF is in the serum, so agglutination would be the right answer. The latex beads will stick together if in the presence of vWF or vice versa, remain separated if vWF is absent.

the assay itself causes gp1b to bind to vwf and then after this platelets are supposed to aggregate, however if the platelet itself cant bind, then they certainly cant agglutinate. check pathoma.
