hi...

i have two question..

(1)...Should the essay be double spaced or single spaced..any need for title??

(2)...On every recom. form I see that there is a section that talks something about waiving my right to have the access to the recom. form.....If I'm not wrong..If i sign the form that means that i waive my right (meaning, ican't see what the professor put on the form....) and if i don't sign it that means that i can have access to the letter............(HOPE I'M MAKING ANY SENSE)

my question is....does it matter which one i choose......

The essay should definitely be double-spaced. Only single-space when your typing/writing space is an issue.

It doesn't matter which one you choose. They have to ask you that...it's the law. I usually waive my right to view my recs so that my profs will feel free to write whatever comes to mind. Plus, if I don't get in, I don't want to hold a grudge against anyone because of what the wrote! lol But, ultimately, that's your call.

There was a thread a while back about this waiving thing. My advice is to waive it and this was the consensus agreement in the thread. For one, some reference will not feel at ease knowing you'll be reading the letter and it might sends a red flag. They might not write a strong letter as you'd like it to be. They'll appreciate the privacy.

As for the essay being double or single spaced. i don't think it matters b/c once you paste it on pharmcas, it will automatically be adjusted to fit formatting. I didn't include a title for my ps.

I was told by my pre-health advisor to waive my right because if your recommenders write good things about you when they know you will never see it, it carries more weight with the adcom's. If you don't waive your right to see it, your recommenders may be influenced, and not as truthful, by knowing you will know what they wrote about you.
