Ester anesthetics and sulfonamides

Has anyone experienced any questions involving esters (e.g. Procaine) and use of sulfa drugs in UW, NBMEs, or even Step? Just read that esters are metabolized to PABA. Wouldn't this theoretically override sulfonamides since you're increasing substrate for DHPS?
