Ethical Dilemma- Failed Classes Don't Show on Official Transcript

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
It is highly unlikely that AADSAS will accept any passed or failed without some documentation. What is the location of such a lenient school?

I go to a school which grades on an A/B/C/F system, where F do not show up on the external (official) transcript. You are able to drop a class until the very last day of classes, and dropped classes also do not show up on the official transcript.

My freshman year, I took 4 classes in the Fall and started with 4 in the Spring, but ended up dropping one because I was not doing as well as I had hoped. While I admit this was horrible reasoning to drop a class, I did nonetheless (silly freshmen). In the first 2 years, we are able to take 1 semester of 3 classes, so this was totally fine from an academic standing point. Then my sophomore year, I failed organic chemistry and ended up with another semester of 3 classes, so was placed on a probation.

I have to report this probation on the AADSAS application, obviously, so I e-mailed a higher-up at my school for advice on how to explain and report the situation, considering these failed/dropped courses won't show up on my official transcript. He said that it is the school's policy to not include failed/dropped courses, so I, too, should not list those courses. This makes me uneasy because I want to be forthcoming and honest during the application process. The adcoms will undoubtedly ask me about my academic probation, so if I tell them this story, will they recalculate my GPA based on these failed classes that don't show up on my transcript? Will they ask for a letter from a Dean verifying my story/failed classes? Would they want my internal (unofficial) transcript to see the classes I had failed? Help me in this ethical dilemma please! Thank you.

You know what ?

you should just put it what it is appeared, you got advantage !! that's good thing

you don't need to feel bad about it ,

some schools have A+ and some schools don't have A+ so some students will have disadvantage and AADSAS don't care about it at all ( it seems like they think disadvantage is just disadvantage but why do you need to think about fair ? )

dont think about it and you just have good advantage and

Take it !

it is cool school though

EDIT: oh you got a probabtion... that's not a good thing.. well, i think you need to ask school about it how others did in the past

That said, the school does not release the unofficial transcript to anyone outside of the school. Furthermore, it claims only specific people within the school (deans, advisors, academic standing committee) can access it.

What school do you go to that doesn't put failed classes on the transcript? I'd be weary of not telling the whole truth. One failed class can be overlooked (did you retake it and pass it? ) , however, it wouldn't be overlooked if you lied about it and they somehow did find out about it.

do you go to brown? I know they do that there. I'd take full advantage of this loophole and exploit it to the max.

I promise you the plus minus system you usually hurts your grades.

If I reported the failed/dropped classes, when AADSAS matched to my transcript, it would see discrepancies because the official transcript doesn't show these courses.

I was wondering about that. Could you request an official copy of transcript mailed to yourself and make sure if those courses aren't showing up on your transcript?

You could also just call/email AADSAS and ask them how they would like you to approach the situation. Chances are, if your transcript doesn't match the courses/course grades reported, your application can be put on hiatus and your GPA may take a long time to get verified (or not get verified at all).
