I love Key Lime Pie. That's all there is to it.
i'm breathtaking![]()
Mine is my name.
😍 😍 😍
How do you feel about blue, fuzzy guys? My uh "friend" would like to know... 😀
You know, a bad doctor can kill you. I wont kill you, but I might break a couple of arms or legs.
mine is NOT my name. everyone thinks my name is Ned, but it's really Nancy. I chose pre-med Ned because I thought...hey...Ned rhymes with pre-med. And after cracking myself up, I made it my sn. haha
KJ = girlfriends initials...and some how im still with the same girl 🙂
Pardon me for posting a for-fun kind of thread... For my Pre-Osteo brethren, from where did your handle originate?
Anyway, I came upon the term "Oculus Sinistra"in one of the first sections and I liked it for a lot of reasons
I never gave it a lot of thought before today, but right before I read your post, I thought to myself "Sinistra" being left (like "S" designation in stereochemistry = left), that maybe you were calling yourself "Left Eye" as in Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes of TLC.
Then again, most people probably have no idea what I'm talking about when I say that. 🙂 It was just a thought - I never thought it before just now, and I probably won't again. 🙂
dr obviously needs no explanation "kicia" means kitty in polish...the whole cat obsession comes out...when i told my bf i want to be a doctor he called me "doctor kicia"...i kinda liked it so made it into my screen name😀
Anyway, I came upon the term "Oculus Sinistra"in one of the first sections and I liked it for a lot of reasons: it was medically-related, the first one reminded me of "octopus" (one of my favorite words), and the idea I attributed to it -- the sinister or evil eye -- gave it a "Tell Tale Heart" spin that appealed to me.
Are you sure you don't want to be an idiot for a living?
Meg (my first name)

Megboo.
This is an awesome thread. 👍
Right before I signed up for SDN, my friend 😛 had bought me one of those "So this is how the body works" books for my birthdaythinking it was right up my alley. I've probably gotten three different books like this over the last three years. I used to have a similar curse with Far Side calendars, getting one every Christmas for at least five years running.
Confused 😕 by the structure of some of the sentences in this book, I discovered that the text had been translated from some other language (Italian, perhaps?). Of course by that time I felt I had made my presence felt as "Oculus Sinistra"and didn't want to register under a new name, a decision that has rendered me several helpful reminders along the lines of, "You know that the word is supposed to be 'Oculus Sinister', right? And you want to be a doctor? You sure you don't want to be an idiot for a living?"
So yes, I know. I know there was a screenname switcheroo a little while back but I couldn't think of a name I'd prefer. Perhaps I'll change it after I get accepted somewhere 😎 (I'm applying next June)
who uses a latin handle, seriously?

...though CrackGoblin was a close second
A great song by a great band off an unfortunately uneven album.
"I know I have said this before, but the odds of us actually playing Freebird?
There are no odds. It is not going to happen.
I will start off with the first reason. We have no idea how to play Freebird.
The second reason is. In the Love Bug's natural habitat, that would f***ing kill him and you wouldn't want that. He is f***ing adorable. He is cute.
Thirdly, even if, pick your deity, came down from the heavens or wherever or the hills or wherever the deity lives and blessed us with this vast knowledge of Freebird. And we could play it backwards and sing it backwards.
We still just wouldn't do it.
(pause)
If this were the Make A Wish Foundation and you were going to die in 20 minutes just long enough to play Freebird, we still wouldn't play it.
Here is the end reason. The end reason is that life is just too f***ing short to hear or play Freebird." -- Isaac Brock, Modest Mouse
i love playing that album in my car to people who have never heard them before. By the time Satin in a Coffin is done, my passengers think that im absolutely insane. its wonderful
...though i agree that the album is uneven
