Hi Everyone!

I was just wondering what you all think about EVMS. I was accepted as a freshman to an early decision program that they offer through my undergrad university, meaning that I don't have to take the MCAT or anything. I'm actually in my junior year right now, and have spent it studying abroad (and not taking the MCAT). I'm definitely interested in primary care, nothing specialized. Do you think it's worth it to go through the whole application process in hopes of going somewhere else and risk not getting in anywhere? Thanks for your input! 🙂

Unless you really dislike your school(I'd hope not) there's not much point if you are planning on being a GP.

I liked the school, the students seemed pretty happy there. Even if you decide not to go into general paractice , I've seen their match list, it would seem like a good school. I wouldn't risk it, the mcat is a biatch, so if you don't have to take it then why bother. A bird in the hand is better then one in the bush.

let me tell you, the mcat and the applciation process are hell to go through so i would not take them if i had the choice. i am currently waitlisted at evems so i woudl ahve loved to have been in your program. I geuss its' the odu/ evms program? have you talked to others who are currently at evsm and were in the same progrma that you are in?

I would be likely to hunt you down and bop you upside the head if you pass up on this opportunity, especially if you're interested in primary care 🙂 ALthough we always match in various specialties, as you know, EVMS is kinda big on primary care. You will be one of hte happiest people after graduation with no debt (other than undergrad?) to go through. You've had amazing opportunities (even traveling abroad!). Don't give up this one.
