Hi,

so I bought EXAM CRACKERS MCAT prep books to study mcat, but I noticed that the topic discussion questions sometimes ask about things that weren't super explicit in the lectures. Have some people noticed it? I like how the books only focus on core materials, though.

I think the 9th edition EK books' lecture questions usually pertain to lecture material.

I did notice that. I didn't worry too much about it, though - bonus study material! If something in the questions wasn't in the lecture, guess on it (if you're not familiar with it), then google it afterward if you don't understand the explanation in the back of the book. I liked the EK set a lot.

P.S. Roll Tide!

Examkrackers is excellent for review! Very concise which is appropriate for the amount of material. The only caution is if EK mentions something that doesn't sound at all familiar, and you need to learn it from scratch, you better get something more detailed like Berkeley Review or Princeton Review for that one topic.

EK is awesome for a quick and thorough content review and learning some new strategies. The 10th edition is slightly more accurate and better quality than 9th edition. But I'd only use EK if your content is already strong. Otherwise, you'd need to supplement with another resource like Khan Academy.

i thought EK was great. there's more thorough ones out there. but you can use a funnel method with the EK (theres a protein folding joke in there somewhere...nerds). use a quick review with EK to figure out some weak spots and zero in on those with extra review with Khan and whatnot.

I don't think EK is sufficient for content review. I preferred PR and hated Kaplan. I like EK Qbanks for drilling and applied repetition.

I took the old MCAT though, so take it with a grain of salt.

Heads up: there is a difference between exam CRACKERS and KRACKERS. The latter is the better one.
