Hello,
I'm a foreign medical student currently in my final year in med school. I want to hear the opinion of those who recently sat for the exam with regards to an estimation of how they scored in relation to their self-assessments. I'm sitting for the exam next week.

These are my scores
USMEL-Rx Online: Random, mixed questions 84% (Estimated score 269 !!)
UWorld Online: Mostly Random mixed: 79% (92nd Percentile)
UWSA1 (2 months before the exam): 256
UWSA2 (1 month before the exam): 253
NBME 15 Online (three weeks before): 249
NBME 16 Online (two weeks before): 251
I did NBMEs 11,12 & 13 offline and had 27,24 & 23 mistakes respectively.

Any guidance on what to do in my last few days and what's the range of score I'm probably going to get on the real deal would be great. I know no one person/assessment can predict the score but a rough estimate from those who sat the exam and had similar scores would be amazing. Thanks.

P.S: I'm aiming at 245+ !!

Yes, write it. Review doubts and relax the last few days. Maybe prepare the sheet you will be using in the exam (formulas and such) but take it easy overall. You are doing quite well and should achieve your 245+ goal.

Thanks a lot Suture15, that's the plan, but what do you mean prepare the sheet I'll be using in the exam?

Like write down whatever formulas and pointers you will write on the laminated one page you are provided before the exam. Just so you know what to fill it up with on the day of the exam.

Not a problem, good luck with yours as well! PS - are you trying for psych? (cuz of username lol)

Yup probably, I'm not certain though!! I really can't seem to be into anything else at the moment (which is a point very close to graduation and I guess should be certain; but who is!!) . I'll see how it goes.

You're applying to Surgery, I believe!!

Personally don't ever rush the Step 1. Rmbr that if you're not at least 90% confident don't risk it prolong it 1 more month if needed. The reason I say this is that most of my friends that scored 250+ never rushed and changed their dates at least once or twice, but that doesn't always have to be the case, because no matter how much you study in the end you'll never feel like it's enough. Judging from your scores though you should be fine though. Keep us informed and Good Luck if you take it 🙂

Thanks for the advice. I sat the exam and I'm honestly thrilled to be done with it, as the way I see it every person has a certain peak they can attain and I was at my peak those past couple of weeks so if I was to postpone I know it would've been downhill from there. It was a not so bad experience actually and having not done any real exam simulations throughout my studies I was scared I'd be tired towards the last two blocks but thankfully this wasn't the case and I hope I did well.
