It seems like many SDners are studying the Examkrackers materials and are quite happy with them. Can someone tell me more about Examkrackers and how I can get their materials?

If you look around on ebay, you can usually get the examkrackers books and audio osmosis at a decent discount. It's also a good place to offload them after you use them (assuming you're not a psycho highlighter/underliner/coffee spiller).

EK also does stuff in NJ (newark and new brunswick) if thats closer to you.

Their books are great, and the online forum alone is worth the cost of the books - but you dont need the books to get to it.

i heard some people have audio osmosis, what exactly is that? can someone explain how it helps you?

Audio osmosis is basically a lecture series on test preparation, going into the specific areas of the MCAT... these are on CD's.. some people say that they are not worth the money and you would be in better shape if you just bought the book, especially considering the price of the CD's

I like Osmosis for the fact that it's a great review. I listened to it in my walkman when I was on the subway, bus, and walking to school. As I wrote, it's great as a review but it should not be fully supplemented as an MCAT prep. There are some errata on it posted on the EK forum.

Osmosis is 12 CDs. I think the real cost is about $300 (check it on Amazon), but I got it for less than that on Ebay.

To study for the MCAT: you should use prep books like EK in conjunction with AAMC practice tests (your textbooks can be optional). I found my textbooks to be useful when I wanted more details about a certain topic. The key: practice and getting a feel of the timing.

i sent out for a CD sampler, ill just have to see i guess. but i heard its a great review for the bio sections and crappy for the physics stuff.

Audio osmosis is good for all the sections. It was worth it for me. It gave me all the information I had learned before (and some that I hadn't). But it fed it to me in a way that was different, so I had to challenge myself to fit the new information into my old mental framework.

When you actively listen to a CD, you can make it into a quiz for yourself-- try to predict what the next thing is that they are going to say, think about what they are saying-- don't just lay back and listen without thinking.
