i have medical-proved concussion affecting my 2nd year performance, i am thinking about taking a medical leave of absence to recover, how does this affect my chance to get into competitive residency...

i am also affected by my poor complex 1 [477] and step 1 [205] with MDD and anxiety....

crying with tears daily ...because my dream to be a internal med doctor is far of reach....

please help ....

A 477 Comlex and a 205 USMLE does NOT take you out of the running for internal medicine.... it will most likely eliminate your chances of getting into the Ivory tower type IM places, but then again they don't normally take DO's anyways. IM is not competitive, you'll be fine. As for the LOA, plenty of students take LOAs in medical school. As long as you have a legitimate reason for taking it (and for your case, it sounds that way) you will be able to explain your reason for taking it in your interviews.
