Explaining health issues in secondaries?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I had an illness as well. I put it in my secondaries and talked about how I would use what I've learned from my experience as a physician.

My illness has been alleviated a while ago just as yours. I think it would be important to put that it is no longer an issue so that they know it wont be a liability later.

It's your decision. Its your protected health information and quite frankly it's none of their business....especially considering that the condition is resolved/controlled.

If you believe that it will help improve your personal statement, go for it. But don't feel like you must share HIPAA with med schools.

If you feel like it really adds to your application, there's no problem. However, it seems redundant to what's already in your PS, and I'm personally hesitant to provide private health information when I don't have to.
