So I have been preparing for interviews on and off for a while now and I am getting pretty nervous. I usually have answers to most questions but I struggle to explain how I feel.

Have any of you guys felt this way too? For example, I can explain my ECs well and I have a significant leadership role in one of them that I absolutely love. However, I can't figure out exactly WHY I enjoy it.

I struggled with this a lot in my secondaries too, which is why I took so much time writing them. However, obviously, in an interview I don't have that luxury.

Your experiences, thoughts, advice...

Most interviews (excluding MMI's) will just be conversations that flow naturally. They don't want to know information that's on your secondaries because they already have that info. Figuring out why you enjoy the things that you do is important, and is something that you absolutely need to figure out before you go on an interview.

Your school's career center may have a person who does mock med school interviews, so look into that. It helped me immensely. You should be prepared to talk about things beyond your EC's, for ex why do you want to be a physician? For these types of questions you should have well-prepared answers so that you don't get stumped, but at the same time you don't want them to sound rehearsed.

And take a beta blocker. Why not? What's a little erectile dysfunction...
