FAFSA questions

OK I'm finally filling this out, but do I need to put down all the schools I might attend or just the top 6... what do I do if there are more than 6?? So far I'm putting my three acceptances and the three top schools I'm waiting to hear from. For example, should I include schools I am waitlisted with or that I might get a last minute interview with?

Also, I need the FAFSA codes for USC, UCSD, and UCI... anyone have them? They are not on the website-- unless there is no special code for the medical schools.

I had the same problem. You can do the online help till midnight. At any rate, wait till your fafsa is processed and the amend it by removing the previous schools and adding the new schools.

I put all the schools I may still go to, regardless if I've been accepted or not. You can only put 6 at a time however. What you do is put 6 to start, submit it, and then after it has been processed, make changes by adding 6 different schools and submitting it again. Each time it's processed, the new schools will get the info, and don't worry, the schools you delete will get the info too. I hope this helps.

all school codes are given out on their financial aid sheets that were handed out during the interview. you should check all your materials or you could do a search on fafsa for the school codes.

not all schools give out their financial info in their packet.

I don't think there's a special code for the med schools - UCSD is 001317 (also on the financial info form) and USC is 001328 (I think someone on SDN called to verify), and you can also find those by searching on the website when you add schools. UCI is presumably whatever you get when you search for it, too.

Some med schools have special codes (i.e. Pitt).

Hey so I just submitted my FAFSA with the 6 schools but it won't let me go add more or change the original 6.

Do I need to wait a few days before I can do this?

Its signed but not processed yet...

Its signed but not processed yet...

Yeah, you have to wait about 2-3 days for it to be processed. Once it is, then you can change the schools.
