Let me guess, straight from college to medical school, zero full time work experience?
Grow up. Frankly I hope this doesn't work out an they expell you or make you repeat 4th year. SOMEONE needs to teach you something about accountability.
They decided to screw around instead.
This is the same person who goes to CME conferences and spends the entire day drinking coffee in the hotel lobby.
OP is the type of doctor that refuses to answer emails, won't follow newly developing best practices, does not engage in quality improvement activities, etc. A child with a fancy degree.
Naturally, what will happen in reality is nothing at all. OP will go on to become whatever type of physician they want and make life hell for all administrative and support staff.
entitled slackers with Rich mommies and daddies pull stuff like this.
Look, I’m not sitting here saying I didn’t make a big mistake—I’m not out for sympathy. I called myself an idiot and stupid, and am working hard to correct this mistake. If my school chooses to expel or dismiss me because of it, I’ll take the punishment that they decide is just. I am making changes in my life so that I can be a better physician and person, but if it’s not meant to be, I will do what I can to move on.
I dislike responding to this stuff, but feel that I have to because it’s getting out of hand. You actually should meet and get to know someone before you judge them so harshly.
I have actually worked a full time job, and have made it through medical school without other issues of professionalism. My parents don’t support me financially, though I won’t deny I have a loving family, which I’m grateful for. I also have done reasonably well in medical school—and managed to get good evals on my rotations. Research is also a passion of mine, and while I’m fairly dreadful at it, I’ve enjoyed being a part of a project; I will say that I haven’t been involved with QI activities, so I will give you that. I’ve also had clinical depression over the last year, but I imagine that your response will be that I’m using that as an excuse for my entitlement.
You may be harder working, more professional and knowledgeable than I will ever be. But please, don’t judge your patients as you have just judged me.
