Hello everyone!

I was wondering whether anyone in this forum will be attending USCs MPH program in the Fall 2004 semester? If so, why did you choose USC; and if not, what were your reasons for passing on its program?

Any info regarding this particular program is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hello everyone:

I was hoping to hear some insights from current or prospective MPH students regarding the University of Southern California's MPH program. Specifically, its reputation and level of admittance standards? Any links or personal accounts are greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hye there I am also interested in applying to the University of Southern California.I am interested in the MPH program and I believe residency is your ultimate goal buddy.Could we switch notes and information regarding universities and faculty and the other niceties of the admission procedure.
It would be nice to have a compatriot applying for the same program in the same term. What says you man. 😳

Hello! I was accepted to Columbia, UCLA, and USC for the MPH. Both Columbia and UCLA kept me updated regarding my application status and they were quick to offer me financial aid-- I got a full ride to both of them. USC, however, never e-mailed me back when I asked for info., and didn't send me a letter of acceptance (a formal one) until I asked for it over e-mail... and it was an informal e-mail from one of the student officers!! Okay... here's why I think you should choose Columbia, Hopkins, UCLA, or UC Berkeley over the USC program:

1) USC's program is relatively new
2) USC ranks #12 in the country (whereas UCLA is #6 and Columbia is #3... while Hopkins is #1)
3) The campus is great, but the area around it is pretty dilapidated
4) It's EXPENSIVE!!! I mean, why spend 60,000 for an MPH from USC, when you can spend 20,000 total at UCLA?

Think about it!!! An MPH doesn't yield a terribly high income, especially if you don't already have an MD... so it's better to get MORE bang for your buck.
