Congrats to everyone who's been accepted!

I got my first acceptance yesterday to Tufts for an MPH in Health Communications. Hopefully I'll hear soon if I also got into their dual degree program for Nutrition. I'm also anxiously waiting for SOPHAS to verify my GPA (submitted 12/13).

GRE: 730M/540V/4.5W
GPA: 3.2 (Human Bio / Nutrition major)
Some outreach, research, and hospital experience.
 
I was accepted to Boston last week for Epi with the $10K merit scholarship (but I get the feeling they hand those out to a lot of people). BU is still too pricey for me, but it's nice to feel accepted. 😀

Accepted into Emory! 😀

The online decision letter didn't say which department, but I'm going to assume it was my first choice (4 semester Epi) since I didn't receive any emails about forwarding my app to a different department.

If I take out a week for Thanksgiving and a week for Christmas/New Year's (since they were checking apps up until Christmas), Emory took the full 6 weeks.

Hmph, we should have written a group letter from SDN to get those decisions sent out to everybody 🙂
 
Sigh... all you Epi folks... so lucky!! 🙂 Congrats.

I feel like all us other concentrations are still waiting desperately...

Based on threads from last cycle, I'd say it'll be a while before Columbia posts any decisions. March, maybe? But this estimate is only based upon a vague recollection of forum posts that I browsed some time ago.
 
Yale chronic disease epi acceptance this morning--or at least, an email primarily about financial aid congratulating me on my acceptance. gotta love the weird by-the-way information...

Whoohoo! Seeing how all you guys are talking about Emory, I logged in to check earlier and found out that I was accepted too! 🙂

Well, they said they're sending out our packets this week, so I'm assuming it'll say in the packet. 🙂
 
hey hey guys, how long did it take Yale to make the decision?

They got my app on 12/16. When do you think I'll hear them back? :scared:

Anyone know if it indicates what "program" that one was actually accepted into? (I just took a quick glance.)

Yale has had my app since mid-November, and I still haven't heard from them.

Emory scholarships--on the website, it says that finalists will be notified early March and then they will be interviewed by phone mid-March.

Congrats to all the Emory acceptees!
 
yay acceptance from Emory for what i assume is 4-semester Epi!
i got an "application complete" email on 11/17

Stats:
3.28 GPA (Biology Major)
730Q/590V/4.5W
2+ years of being in a lab
Half a year of hospital volunteering
3+ of weekend tutoring

Waiting on:
Yale, Hopkins, Columbia, USC, UCLA, Boston
 
Accepted to UMich Hospital and Molecular Epidemiology!

I thought they weren't reviewing applications until after the deadline...
Does anyone know when UMich offers scholarships?

^It was by email. When I logged into Wolverine Access, there was no decision listed.

The email talked about paying the deposit if we wanted to enroll, but it gave no date. Is it safe to assume April 15?

dhycortex, UMich received my application a month before yours. Don't worry yet!

You aren't doomed! I imagine this is just the first wave. I submitted my app long before yours, like mid Oct. So don't worry.


Besides, some people on here got their Yale acceptances before I did and I submitted my app earlier, so you just never know.

Just checked Sophas for the 100th time today and it says I've been admitted to Drexel. Sigh... just a relief to have one.

Wow cihp congrats and with those stats I'd be absolutely shocked if you didn't get into UNC. Best of luck!!
 
Just got accepted into Univ Michigan and Drexel. Everyone keep your heads up. Stats don't mean everything.

3.6GPA from the UC system
Double Majored in Molecular Immunology/Virology and Psychology
320 verbal
680 quantitative
3.5 Writing

Congrats all- according to Wolverine Access the Michigan deposit is due 3/1.
 
Total accept: Texas, Pitt, Minn, UIC, Emory, Michigan, Boston.

Waiting on: Harvard, Yale and Hopkins.

Just heard from UNC in the affirmative. What a relief!

Accepted: BU (IH), Pitt (BCH), GWU (GH), and UNC (MCH)

Now I just have to decide between them all. I am leaning towards UNC but like the idea of living in Boston. If anyone has any experience working through school at UNC, get in touch! Thanks!

Hey congrats! Would you mind telling me when you applied and how you heard from UNC (email, snail mail, etc..)? Did they ever send you any confirmation of a completed app?
 
I guess I'm the first reject!

Pretty depressing. The funny part is it wasn't even my top choice. I applied because of the ridiculously low in-state tuition and the fact that it is a great school. I guess it just stings because my first letter is a rejection...

Rejected: UNC-MCH
Applied 11/17 (everything complete date of submission)
Rejection letter (snail mail) dated 1/6-received today

Still Waiting: Tulane, UIC, BU, Emory, USF

You're probably just the first person brave enough to admit it 😏. Don't sweat it, especially since it's not your top choice. You still have 5 good programs to hear back from!

Aww, don't worry! I'm sure you'll hear good things from the other schools. And isn't UNC really tough to get into?

Yes.

At the information session for MCH they said they got 177 apps for 35 spots last year. Its hard bc it was the first but I keep reminding myself that its not my top choices.
I just need to turn my attention back to stalking the mailman and waiting for good news! 🙂

Hey,
I didn't get any confirmation from UNC at anytime--I was obsessed with checking the internet to see if anything ever came up. I got my notification by snail mail which was sent from the US on Dec 14. I'm abroad so I didn't get it until last week. The internet server still doesn't say that I got in though...ugh. Good luck!
