GW and all of the other schools I applied to processed my app mid-November.

Edit: Received a rejection letter from Yale. Oh well, I wouldn't have gone there even if I was admitted.

Emory, why haven't I heard from you? Hey guys, do you know how many people get into the social behavior and health education program every year?
 
Got an email 10 min ago from UPitt saying that I've been recommended for admission. I'm really shocked... happy but really, this is a pleasant surprise.

Edit: Got an email from SLU asking to schedule an interview.

When did you apply? I'm trying to gauge how long it's been taking different schools to reply lately, haha.

My application was mailed out Dec. 16 by Sophas and I got an email Dec. 22 stating that my app was complete and sent out for review. It also said final decisions would be mailed.

On UPitt's website (at least on the old design) under BCHS it says it takes 3-4 weeks from the time your application is complete. So they're well within their timeframe 🙂 I hope that helps.

In my email today it also said I'd get official notification within a week or so.

Thanks! Mine got mailed like a week after yours but I only got my confirmation January 8. Anyway I got my "application complete" emails from Pitt, Emory and Yale in the last few days, now the anxiety/waiting begins.
 
check apply yourself for JH! i'm not sure if it is different for everyone, but I just randomly checked it (ok, i've been stalking it), and I got into the IH program...good luck everyone!
 
Scholarships will be announced late February, early March, according to the Department Rep that I spoke too.

Congratulations dude! Just a couple of questions from a fellow stalker: (1) When did you apply? (2) Was the link to the decision on the front page of applyyourself, or did you have to click through to the "application for admission"?
 
If you scroll all the way down on the front page, a link will pop up below "Application status" that says something along the lines of

"Decision status: Available beginning ____"
Your application decision is now available online

I got a complete email on the 6th and the decision today via email, so about a week.

I didn't care, as I got into Univ Michigan and that's one of my top choices so no harm done =) 🙂

Wow really?! I got my email Dec. 31, though it did say it'd take 2-3 weeks. I checked online and it's still under review.

Anyway, thank you for answering my question.

Michigan is definitely a great school from what I've been told. 🙂
 
hey ok lillaregn- I applied mid-November (10th?). And yes, healthwolf had it...on the apply yourself site it says whether or not the admissions decision is available and then a link to the decision. i got into the GDEC International Health program, but the programs might vary when they tell people decisions.

seci- as for stats 3.6gpa, senior in undergrad now, some summers of international experience/internships during school, gre: 750q,630v,5.5essay..haven't gotten an email from them yet though? weird they would post the decision without emailing you. hopefully soon. anyone know anything about an admitted student day? i know emory has one in march, i'm assuming JH then too?

and while it's doubtful i'll get in - anyone hear anything from harvard?

For Hopkins, you should get an official letter in the mail. You should also get an email with a 'welcome kit' that allows you to sign up for visitor's day for admitted students (there's one in March and one in April).

anyone hear back from Emory this week? I was completed according to an email and am just anxious I guess. They said they'll send it to my second choice if I dont get into my first choice....hmm..

Yup, I heard back from BSHE dept! To save you from obsessively checking OPUS all the time like I did, they should send you an email from admissions to notify you of their decision as well...

Thanks healthwolf! I applied for that program too but haven't heard back yet...blah..sadness. Yeah, I've gotten to the point where checking opus just hurts and hurts every single time. When did you hear from them and how long did it take after you received that complete email I got? I'll go through the forum to see if you already post this so you dont have to retype everything.

Let's see... I received the complete email back on December 2, and it took 6 weeks for them to send their decision (a few days ago). Hope that helps, and good luck!!
 
just happened to check SOPHAS...no, not for school decisions but to assess from the dates of submission when to start expecting them. It says- University of Texas: Admitted. It hasn't been a fortnight since I applied to them! Haven't heard anything at all from the university directly. If they've admitted me...so soon at that, I love them totally.😍
May I have your thoughts on the Texas program (Epi)?

After reading your post...I too checked SOPHAS...and I too got the status as Admitted...Other admitted students ..how did u get an official acceptance notice...e-mail??
 
For UT, I got an email as well as a letter in the mail... I think the e-mail came a few days after the decision was posted through SOPHAS.

concern, the Epi program is very strong, the faculty is great and it's very cheap to attend school there which is definitely appealing. I may or may not work for the UT-Houston system which gives me great insider info on the program. 😉 I also have friends that are currently attending school there. You can feel free to pm me if you have specific questions about the program (or anyone else for that matter).
 
i have the same thing, but no word from UT itself...
...what about the PhD program in Epi here? thoughts anyone?
 
Got accepted to Univ Texas today. Application mailed 12/28, admitted today, 1/16/10.

3 accepts
1 rejection so far
9 awaiting

In an email I received from Harvard back in December, they said we'll hear about decisions in "late February or early March". happy waiting! 😛
 
People have heard back from UIC, Minn and Yale already(mostly with November/early Dec apps). I believe at least UIC is rolling..
People have previously mentioned Columbia takes awhile.

thanks utph. I may have specific questions about the program and about living in Texas...I'll reserve them for later, when I've heard from some other Unis as well. Thankss!

About Harvard- I got the same message. Admission decisions by Feb-March.
 
I just received an email from GW...decisions (at least for epi and biostats) will be available after Feb. 15.
 
Hey all! I was just accepted to Pitt's MS program in Epi via email, yay! for those of you who also applied to the MS program in Epi at BU, I spoke to someone in admissions today...they told me they won't be reviewing apps until after the March 1 deadline (lame).

I also figured I would share an anecdote to illustrate the importance of following up with applications:

Today, I called a university (name will not be used) to check the status of my app. The admissions rep said my transcript was never received, I was shocked. I had my transcripts sent back in September! I never received an email or phone call to let me know it was missing. They said I could submit another one, and that it wasn't too late to do so. So, I politely thank the rep, hang up, and immediately get on the phone with my current university's registrar office. Oddly enough, they only had a receipt of ONE transcript being sent out (even though I told the secretary I needed two and filled out all of the necessary paperwork). Luckily, all I needed to do was request another one to be sent to the school, no harm done. Moral of the story: FOLLOW UP, always! You may think you're bothering the admissions staff, but really, it's their job to help! 🙂

Just to check with you again - was your app was labelled 'complete' on the applyonline webite on Dec 6th? You got your decision i 1 week? Thats fast! what program did u apply for?

I sent in my application via Sophas on December 27th..Sophas didn't mail it out until the 29th. The school confirmed everything was received on Jan 6th, and an acceptance email exactly a week later.

edit: my response is regarding University of Texas.
 
Just got accepted to Univ. of Southern California today. Yayy!!
Waiting on UTexas,UCLA,UCBerkeley
and San Diego State.

Has anyone heard from UNC, specifically the HBHE program? If so, how did you hear? Email? Snail mail? I am dying to know! They're my top choice!

Stats:
V - 89%
M- 92%
Writing - 41% (stupid writing section)
Undergrad GPA - 3.7
Exp. - Research in undergrad and 2 years of labwork
 
Flowergirl, expect to hear from them by snailmail! Good luck...
