Hey, just a quick judgment call:

During the add-drop period this fall, I changed my Fall 2009 course schedule from what was listed on my AMCAS. Thus far, I've just been including the updated schedule (just one change in a non-science graduation requirement) along with my thank you emails for interviews.

Is this the preferred way to update schools? Or would it be necessary to send emails to every school on my list to give them a head's up, even before they decide to interview/hold me?

Thanks!

I don't think your interviewers care what classes you are or are not taking...so I probably would not include that in a thank you note.

Also, since AMCAS never verifies what classes you take senior year, I don't think med schools put much stock in what you list. there's probably the assumption that most people won't have their courses set in stone when they submit their AMCAS (and for that reason, many people simply choose to not fill out courses for their senior year unless they still have pre-reqs to fill).

Agree.

It doesn't matter; you don't even really need to update them. My senior year schedule changed all over the place from my initial guess. I would update them after you have grades for first semester, but don't worry about it before that. They definitely don't hold you to your AMCAS guess.
