There are a ton of "fall grades" threads, but I couldn't find the answer in any of them. I'm a post-bacc and have been accepted to medical school. I decided to take an extra Biochem class because some med schools require it for matriculation. I took the course at a local college that is neither my undergrad university or my post-bacc university. Now that the grades are in (got an A), what am I supposed to do with it?

Do I go through AMCAS again and create another transcript request? Or do I request a transcript to be sent directly to the medical schools (I haven't decided which school I will attend yet)? And what about all the medical schools where I have been waitlisted or have yet to receive an interview invite?

On a side note, if I also wanted to get a new LOR from this professor to be sent to my waitlisted schools, would I go through AMCAS again or have it sent directly to the school?

I think you just email them the course and grade (and perhaps an unofficial transcript if available). I doubt a single course will make much difference in your admissions decision, in any case. You'll send official transcripts in prior to matriculation.

Not sure about LORs, but I think the best way to do it confidentially is through AMCAS. One of my letter writers updated her letter, and all my schools received the new version promptly. Perhaps email each school a notification regarding the new letter.

No, you do not create another transcript request, since your app has already been submitted and verified.

You could, at your discretion, informally send a letter updating the schools where you still have an open application about your new grade.

You will only need to send your final transcripts (all of your transcripts) to the institution you decide to matriculate at.

Otherwise, you aren't supposed to do anything with this new grade.

You would likely send it through AMCAS, but you should contact the schools directly to find out how they want it done.
