Do medical schools to which I've applied this summer request/need to see either summer session or fall semester grades? Does AMCAS get that info? Thanks

yeah im curious about that too. do i have to forward a new transcript to each of the 20 schools when i get themin july?

20 transcripts x $5/transcript = another friggin $100

No, they're not required to see your fall grades. If you're accepted, however, 99% of schools require that you pass all your classes, and some will even make you explain your C's. If you do well, you should send your fall transcripts to all the schools you're still interested in regardless.

As long as you do well in the fall semester, it's a good idea to send updates to all the schools that you have open applications with at that point. Some undergrads offer to send only semester grades for a reduced rate/free altogether. A lot of schools may not require official documentation, though. They may just take your word for it if you send it in writing (check with each school on this). This is okay from their perspective because if you lie, they'll eventually find out and then they can revoke your acceptance.

To Rugger, I'd definitely let your schools know one way or another about your spring grades, assuming you just completed your 6th semester. Otherwise, adcoms have only 5 semesters of grades to look at.

it was only one class. i took microbiology because it looked interesting and it fit my schedule.

if it was a full course load, then id definitely send the transcripts. but it was just one post-bacc (and my 2nd one at that).

guess i'll see where i am in the app process this fall.

The already given advice is good. Send updated transcripts to schools you're still interested in. I know someschools like SLU require you bring your updated transcript to your interview, and if you interview there in the spring that means they will see your fall grades. And when you're accepted to a med school they require you submit your transcript as well. Obviously how you do the spring of your senior year matters less, and you can't flunk out during that time either.

i dont anticipate sending transcripts to any schools unless they absolutely want them. i worked my ass for off for three years for a reason.

im finally happy with a B.

You odn't have to send transcripts. I sent letters with the courses, grades, cum. GPA and calculated sci and non sci GPAs. That should work. All if costs is 37 cents for the stamp 🙂

Nope unless you are waitlisted

or if you want them to give you an interview. Any good news in your life is worth letting the adcom know about. Send updates after every quarter/semester to let them know your progress - unless you get poor grades. Chances are, if you get below a C, they will rescind an acceptance anyways, so KEEP THOSE GRADES UP!
