so...are we planning on updating the faqs....?
Yeah, sure. Go ahead
lol typhoon...i KNEW someone was gonna say that. Unforunately, I'm an incoming M1. Hence, I'm "stoopid."
It's just that I recall a previous post a while back about updating/rewriting the faqs. There were some good suggestions in that post too.
But typhoon...ur so much smarter than us all
These were ideas from that previous post/new ideas:
1) how to apply for preliminary programs would be useful (how many to apply to, which ones to choose, or what sort of strategy to use when applying)
2)could provide a list of what neurology programs fall in each category (guaranteed categoricals, linked programs, completely independent programs)
3) a section focusing on opportunities in research in and after neurology residency will be really encouraging for students thinking of making a career in neurology
4) more specifically address the issue of neurology being a diagnostic w/ no decent treatment specialty (give examples of how this isnt so much the case)
5) a more thorough discussion of the abms subspecialties (vascular, neurophysio) and the more popular nonabms ones too (i always hear lots about neuro-onc, interventional neuro, neurointensivists, neurohospitalists from people on the forum). One can sorta make it like the internal medicine subspecialty forum's sticky (brief overview of the subspecialty, typical length of fellowship, competitiveness, etc).
5B) a special expanded section on interventional neuro since that type of post comes up so often
6) list of some of the stronger neuro residency programs
