I genuinely feel like I bombed my interview. it was very cut and paste from my interviewers side and while I understand that may eliminate biases it genuinely did not seem like they were interested in getting to know me. I feel like I did my best to show who I am through my responses but I felt like the questions did not give me a lot of ground to do this, and this may be in comparison to other interviews I did where it truly felt like they were SO interested in getting to know ME as a person, just didn't feel that here. I also felt rushed from my interviewers and a sense that they 1 of them was not paying attention as they were looking off away from the screen, and while I understand it could be a monitor, their responses made me feel like they were not fully engaged with what I was saying. overall I just really feel that my performance was low and this is my DREAM school... so what do I do? Do I just sit back and wait or try to be proactive and send a letter of intent? I'd love any advice on this truly. Thank you in advance 🙂

Judging interview performance is hard from an applicant perspective. An interviewer could love you but be naturally brusque. An interviewer could be really enthusiastic, but rate everyone highly in which case you didn't stand out. Nothing you said makes me think that you bombed the interview.

Most people are terrible judges of their own interview performance.

The healthiest thing to do is move on and prepare for the next interview. Sending a letter of intent will just be a waste of time, because most admissions Deans consider them to be lies.
I second this.

I had an interview I thought I did so good on I walked away thinking they were gonna accept me the next day, but it ended up being my only MD WL. The interview I thought I absolutely bombed and told everyone I had no chance at I received an A as fast as they could give it. Patience is a virtue. You've done everything you can at this point, so sit back and crack a cold one.

thanks for replying, that gives me some peace of mind, trying to just be patient and await my decision 🙂

I have so many stories of clients who completely misjudged how an interview went -- both for good and bad. The IV happened, and you can't change your performance or the interviewers.

You appear to have had several interviews, so probably you just need to wait. If this school accepts (and perhaps encourages) updates and LOIs, you could send them an LOI if it really is your first choice, but as others have said admissions committees tend to discount those. And presumably you updated them on what's new in the course of your interview. While I don't think this will get you in, if you have an email address, send a thank you for their time and consideration of your candidacy. You can also mention what really impresses you about their program, preferably something that you learned about during the interview day. A little courtesy and appreciation never hurt.

Your perceptions regarding your interview performance may indeed be accurate, but it's much more likely you're catastrophizing a high-stakes event. On a more positive note, your interview may have been quite acceptable, in which case you will receive a pleasant suprise! In any case, what has been done cannot be undone, so perhaps you should utilze the knowledge gleaned from this experience and apply it to the next interview. More specifically, if you find yourself in an interview circumstance where you feel your voice isn't being heard, it would be to your distinct advantage, in a respectful manner, to re-direct the interview committee's attention to that fact; it would clearly speak volumes about your willingness to stand up for yourself, as well as convey your strong sense of purpose (and maturity!)...
