My parents (and I because as an undergrad I'm home again for the summer) have a 13 year-old domestic longhair and this past February she was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. Upon reading up more on the symptoms, I think she's probably had it for at least 2-3 years, especially the excessive urination and frequent vomiting - let's say I've gotten very good at getting stains out of the carpet. My parents (unfortunately) do not believe in doing anything for treatment - according to my father she has lived out her useful life. Is not treating my cat inhumane? What are my options for convincing my parents to maybe do something about it?

😕
