Hi everyone, I just finished my P2 year and my interest in pursuing a fellowship has been been something that I've been thinking about. Now that P3 year is around the corner and rotations soon after, does anyone have advice about what I should do to be successful for pursuing a fellowship? It is competitive as everyone knows but I am also not that A + B student but I'm involved, hold a few leadership positions. Also, what were the statistics for those of you that are starting/have recently completed (GPA, internships, etc). Thanks!

Take industry, FDA etc or challenging rotations. You still have a year to go into rotations so try to get research experience for this year or at least some time and if you get lucky and get to publish then its even better. these things will help you regardless of you are applying in residency or fellowship. start looking into fellowships and see which ones you like the most and try to tailor your experiences accordingly so it gets easier when you interview for that position.

When it's time to select rotations, definitely seek relevant rotations. Even in those that are largely clinical, do projects/presentations/research that highlight your interest in industry and the specific functions of industry you're interested in.

Consider joining Industry Pharmacists Organization (IPhO). You can join a local student chapter if you have one at your school or join as a national student member.

Remain involved and look for opportunities that allow you to take initiative, lead projects, etc.
