Hey guys, for those who have taken the DAT in the past few months, have plants generally shown up as topics on the biology section? I hate studying it so much because I know that we will never have to deal with plants in dental school.

Thanks!

He wouldn't include it if t didn't show up. Many people have said they've had some questions on plants. Others, no.

The DAT is very tricky, you might have a few plant questions, a lot of plant questions or none at all. Unfortunately that is the nature of the DAT. There is no way to know prior to the test what you will encounter. It has been stated by some that the DAT Destroyer is overkill, I must disagree, Destroyer will prepare you for whatever comes you way. No one has a crystal ball to know before hand.

Hang in there, the DAT is very challenging but a very manageable test if you prepare for it. No shortcuts or easy way out to achieve a high score.

Just my 2 cents.

Wishing everyone the best.

What I did is take my own notes and only memorized the important stuff like definitions, plant hormones etc. I did feel overwhelmed by feralis plant's section as it was the entire section from cliff's.

Yes I agree, Feralis notes are mainly compiled from Cliffs and Campbell's

When Dr. Romano/Nancy replies to your post :claps::soexcited:. Thank you for your insight! DAT is challenging, but your destroyers have taught me more materials than my 3 years at a university!

I took the DAT recently and did well in Bio...It was so comprehensive that during the exam I thought I was doing bad!! lol...I made my own notes (32 pages!) of info from Cliffs and then supplemented it with Feralis...Feralis Plant is indeed a lot of depth! I would say to definitely study the types of plants/treed ( bryophytes etc..), life cycle, Light/Dark reactions (in general, as in what is happening but not too much in depth like enzymes used)

Would you say there was more application than recalling information? From bootcamp and Dr. Romano's destroyer it was more like recalling!

more recall BUT very random, and on par with Bootcamp and Qvault especially. There was application also but not as much.

I think DAT bio is all about how much time you have to study. I'm into crunch mode so I'm focusing on high yield stuff for review but I've been studying for awhile and since I had the time I spent time focusing on everything since I've been told bio can be super random and specific at times
