I think you might be confusing Optometrist with a medical doctor. Do you know that optometrist don't write MCAT and don't go to med school? Do you know the difference between OD vs OMD?

You are describing an ophthalmologist also described as an "eye surgeon" colloquially. This pathway requires 4 years of college + (MCAT) + 4 years medical school + 1 year internship + 3 years residency.

An optometrist is also described as an "eye doctor" colloquially. This pathway requires 3 or 4 years of college + (OAT) + 4 years of optometry school.

I was thinking the same. I wonder what he will think of Optometrists when he finds out that they are not eye surgeons. 😉 Correct me if I am wrong but I don't think Nepal has any such thing as optometry. Please move the thread to Ophthalmology.
