You see all of this number crunching is killing me...My head hurts oh so much now.
The way I see it, for me I will hopefully pull the HPSP for the Navy or Army get a 20k signing bonus (use that as the down payment for a small place) and have them pay me between 2k and 2.5k a month. Plus pay all of my tuition and books. Then take out another 10-20k a year for living expenses for family care and all (Diapers cost a small fortune, every time I change my sons diaper I tell him there goes another university credit) hehehe
With my student loans from undergrad and grad I will owe a total of about 120k.
While in the active mil, make about 120k a year. Then live on 50k for five years and be totally debt free when my active duty mil time is up.
Now, having said all of that, and I don't get the HPSP...I AM GONNA BE SCRE..D! So how do I not worry about this stuff and be able to sleep at night you might ask?
Well, first things first, MCAT, school work, med school acceptance. Once I get that acceptance. Then there will be new worries to think about. Like how to pay for it. I am just concerned about paying for the application process and the trips to these schools for interviews. How can anyone handle more than a handful of schools?
PS its Ghostbusters!
