I've been filling out the AMCAS for this current cycle, but I won't be applying until this summer for a fall 2009 matriculation. So when the official application opens up in April or May for the upcoming cycle, will all my current entries be saved? Thanks.

Unless they've changed it in the past year no, it won't be saved. The new cycle is a new application and your answers don't transfer over.

Hmm- I lied.
I applied to AMCAS in 2007. Do I need to enter all my information again?

No. Information entered into a 2007MCAS Application will "roll-over" to the AMCAS 2008 application.

Looks like you're ok - unless that only counts for people who actually submitted the primary.

I agree. You can cut and paste your descriptions for activities, etc. into a Word document so at least you won't have to type that all over again.

wow! i just spent all last night inputting all of my classes. that sucks 😡 i wish i had asked before i started 😛

Interesting. It does sound like that's only for reapplicants though.

Yeah - I personally wouldn't count on things rolling over for those who didn't actually submit. But it might work. Are you guys really in such a hurry that you can't just fill it out in May when its available?

no....just thought i'd get a head start. i guess that wasnt as great of a plan as i hoped...

Hey at least now you're familiar with how to fill it out when the time comes. Think how quickly you'll fly through it in May. 😉

I think everything does save. I applied in the cycle before this one and when I went to do the application for this cycle, all of my stuff was still there. Even the explanations were there. I just checked right now to see if it was there and it is. So I think it does carry over. God bless.

It sounds like it carries over if you actually submitted and paid for the primary. But if you just filled it out it doesn't.

Which makes sense considering how excited people around here get when the Primary becomes available every year. If you could just fill out the old one and carry it over without being a reapplicant then no one would be so excited about May 5th or whatever...

i did the same thing last cycle.

the responses did NOT rollover into the new AMCAS.

Haha yeah I did that two cycles ago, too

If you're not a reapplicant and you're just filling it out early, the classes/activities will not transfer but the biographical information will.

If you're a reapplicant everything will transfer over
