Me too! By the way are you bringing your pup with you? I'd love to find other people I can set up playdates with. My dog loves playing with other dogs as long as they aren't aussies/borders or mixes of those breeds 🙄. I didn't raise her to be such a brat but at least she plays well wth most of the other kids.

Whenever i went to an OU football game, i could never figure out why they drove that little covered wagon on the field with all those college boys chasing it with long white paddles that look like the 'bats' they use to play Cricket with. The covered wagon makes sense i suppose.... And then they yell, 'Boomer' and the rest of the crowd yells 'Sooner'. What does all this mean?

The Hokie's origin is actually a pretty interesting one. It originated from basically a fight song. The metamorphosis into a 'Hokie Bird' came from something potentially unrelated to a turkey. The story is disputed and can be found on VT's website:

Haha. Well, first of all, here's a wiki about what a 'Sooner' is:

The fight song for the school is 'Boomer Sooner' (an irritating, repetitive tune, IMO) so that's the origin of the chant. The Conestoga wagon is kind of a trademark of the school based on its historic significance in relation to the school and is, technically, the school's mascot. However, the horses pulling the wagon ('Boomer' and 'Sooner', respectively) are more suited to be mascots... and there are horse mascots for games where wagons/horses are not allowed on the field.

The problem is, money is a factor...and it should be!

They are all great schools, so congrats! 😀 I'm still deciding myself, and having a hard time, so I am afraid I can't be of much help 🙂

haha that's ok tpad. I knew I'd get a comment straight away about the money comment! In reality I certainly will factor it in, but in my situation there aren't enormous price differences between the schools like the case would be for IS vs OOS, so I'm going to consider finances after I decide which school I would like best. I also have a lot of money reserved for vet school, so my debt won't be as severe graduating from one of these expensive schools...

Have you visited all of them? Which one felt right to you? They are all very different in terms of locations, not just in terms of country, but rural versus urban. Some of those schools have a lot bigger class sizes than others. Some of those schools are just bigger, in general, where you will be exposed to people other than just those at the veterinary school, while others are more isolated. Is weather a factor for you? Do you care how your degree reads? If you meet a SO in another country would you want to settle down there? Close your eyes and picture a place where you are happiest. What does it look like? Do any of those places look like what you imagine? Maybe you should write a list of what is most important to you an see which school has the most of those things...
