Hey all,

I’m just about to finalize my school list. I was planning on applying to most DO schools to maximize my chances. However, I was wondering what you all thought of my chances of getting into the following schools would be

OSUCOM
OUHCOM
DMU
WVSOM
Nova

Here are my stats
3.2 GPA from top 50 liberal arts college
521 MCAT (130/129/130/132)

A few hundred hours of shadowing experience in cardiology, OMM, PM&R, orthopedics, and urgent care. Both MD and DO

3 years of research experience. Served as an RA and teaching assistant for anatomy.

Varsity athlete with 2 NCAA national championships

Eagle Scout with heroism medal for lifesaving at risk to self.

Iowa resident

My gpa seems to be pretty low. Hoping the MCAT and extracurricular can pull me in. Basically, a few upper level math classes brought down my GPA a great deal. Other than that it’s fine. Should I be worried?

Iowa State will snatch you up in a jiffy

Likewise, DMU will accept you. You have cool ECs and a great MCAT, your GPA is low but not murderous! You’ve got this, just kill your interviews.

Iowa state doesn’t have a medical school. University of Iowa?

Yes! That’s what I meant.

I only checked out DMU in IA and really liked it. I’m told UI is good also
