I just finished my undergrad in the spring but I am taking Biochemistry this semester as is a pre-req for a school I applied for. I just found out I was not accepted so technically, I no longer need the class. I'm not planning to drop it, but I'm just wondering how much my final grade in this class will matter. Taking the class was a last minute decision so I didn't get the chance to add it to my AMCAS before it was verified. I mentioned it as one of my activites on some of my secondaries when asked what I would be doing this year if not enrolled in school full-time. Since it's not on my AMCAS, will the schools that know about it because of the secondary ask me for the final transcript?

Not unless they accept you and you matriculate. That med school will require final transcripts.

I understand that, but I'm wondering if they will "forget" because the course is not listed on my AMCAS. They already have my final transcripts from undergrad and I'm taking this class somewhere else. I'm trying to find out how much it matters if it's only listed on the secondary (some schools don't know about it at all).

Med schools do not have your transcript. AMCAS does.

When you get accepting somewhere, and then decide to matriculate, you will have to provide them with a copy of your transcript which will have this class listed on it.

Nothing to "forget." Are you thinking about hiding this class from med schools?

If you get in somewhere, the grade probably won't matter a heck of a lot. While it's theoretically possible for a school to rescind an admission offer because of a bad grade it almost never happens. They like you, and a little trouble in one class at the very end doesn't change an otherwise outstanding applicant.

If you don't get in, then it matters about as much as any other science class as far as its weight on your next application if you reapply.

If you don't reapply, then it's back to not mattering at all.
