Hi guys,

I've been trying to do Firecracker on comprehensive mode along with studying for my classes. I've only tagged one and a half systems so far and it's already overwhelming. I'm thinking about switching it to light mode(as suggested by others) while supplementing it with Kaplan Micro/Pharm/Biochem. Is this a good plan? It just appears to me that there's insufficient time to complete FC on comprehensive mode while doing pathoma, FA, qbanks, etc. since my exam is in the middle of June. Can I still shoot for a 230+ on the exam if I use FC on light mode?

Are there certain systems/topics on FC that are best done on comprehensive mode? I was thinking maybe Micro or Biochem might be good for this.

Also, with regards to Behavioral Science and Psychiatry, is doing FC for those topics on comprehensive mode more than enough to be able to answer the USMLE questions? I'd prefer to not use Kaplan Behavioral Science/Psych in the interest of time.

I'm also planning on doing Kaplan for Micro and Pharm. Is that a good idea? I would also supplement with the Lippincott/Lange flashcards.

Is Kaplan a good resource for biochem as well? Sorry for the flurry of questions but I would greatly appreciate any replies. Thanks in advance!

There is a FC thread that this question would be better posed in, but in short:

- If you've only flagged 1.5 systems and not much else it sounds like you just started. Hopefully you didn't pay for it already, b/c I'd say your efforts are better spent elsewhere. Using it on Light Mode isn't really utilizing the program for its strengths.
- I've heard someone mention before that he thinks one of the strengths of FC is for things that are more memorization based such as Micro and Pharm, but again, the utility of the program is down if that's all you use it for. You'd be better off just using Picmonic.
- Behavioral on FC between Behavioral Sciences and Psychiatry should get you most questions.
- Kaplan Micro is known to be good. I can't speak as much on Pharm, but I have seen a few people say the videos helped them.

Thanks for the reply. Should I repost my Firecracker question on the other thread? I actually did purchase the FC subscription(last semester but I didn't really use it). So, does everyone agree then that it's better to use other resources instead of FC on light mode? Does anyone know any good resources for biochem? Thanks!
