I just checked my designations status and much to my surprise my application was sent out today!

6/26/06

but then

mailing status
revised

i guess that means it's sent?

yea..mine says revised for each school under status....Revised

On the designations page there are three columns on the right hand side of each school designation. The first column indicates when you paid AACOMAS, the second column indicates when the app was sent, and the third column is the status, which says, "revised," if it was sent.

well...i guess since it does have a mailed date, that we can assume they have been sent out today.

perhaps the "revised" status is exactly what it looks like....that our status regarding the condition of our apps is no longer "not yet mailed" but has changed to "revised" pending the medical schools receiving them?

For those of us who had our apps sent, the process took about a week. At this point in time, I'm hearing that it is taking 4-6 weeks to process apps.

Just spoke to AACOMAS and if you have Revised that means you are verified and will be going out with the first batch tomorrow. Not sure how the original poster has sent since the lady told me the first batch is going out tomorrow as a group. That just finished printing and getting them ready for tranmission!

I'm afraid that my primary won't be verified and sent out until mid-July. Is that considered too late for a lower end GPA/MCAT profile?

I just submitted my aacomas app. Transcripts have been in since May. Payment sent via credit card. When do you all think my status will say "sent" also?

My bad. The AACOMAS people told me that apps were getting sent out this week. The "sent" column in my designations page says they were sent 6/26/06, which led me to believe mine was sent. Nonetheless, apps are in the process of being sent out, if not already sent. So I second that WOOHOO

For the GPAs, I've seen calculations done as soon as one week to as long as two and a half weeks. Sending the primary after the April 2006 MCAT results creates a bottleneck.

Would the date that batch 2 goes out make that much of a difference? It's a waiting game. Med schools will provide their secondary when they have received the primary. Best of luck.

I cannot believe that they are still using regular mail. They should use electronic media to transfer the application. It is much easier and way faster than UPS.

My MCATs are not even posted on my application, but AACOMAS has the application stating the mailing date as the 26th ???
Is AACOMAS gonna mail the MCAT scores out seprately? I had them released on the 19th.

While I'm usually a patient person, and I'm unaware of the nature behind the staffing at AACOMAS, I have to admit their snail's pace to all modes of communication (phone, email, updating apps, etc) is wearing thin. Perhaps a 'Vent at AACOMAS' thread is needed.

does anybody know what "new" and "revised status mean?

My status is "new" and i emailed one of my designated schools to see if they received the application and they said they received the first batch of applications on june 30. so i believe "new" with a date under mailing date (mine is 06/26/2006) means that your application was sent that day. if it says "revised" then i don't believe it has been sent.

I actually just called the aacomas. They said that "new" means that you never applied before, "revised" means that it is your second or third time applying

I sent my appication to AACOMAS 5/29. All of my transcripts were received by 6/16. My GPA has yet to be calculated so obviously also not sent to schools.
I have seen some on SDN that had their transcripts received later than 6/16 that have already been sent to schools.
I am not sure why mine is taking so long. Could it be that I have transcripts from several schools as well as a Master's degree, so this takes longer?
I don't want to bug them at AACOMAS, but when should I call to question?

That's all well and good, but I guess it doesn't answer the question that once all those categories (payments, transcripts, calculations) are complete, how soon thereafter will they actually mail out the primary to our assigned schools?

And going further...about how soon after being mailed out will secondaries come in?

I have been complete since 6/19 and still no GPA or designations 🙁 😱 🙄
