Has anybody had any experience with not paying the first deposit at school A, or getting a bigger window of time, while waiting for an acceptance from school B?

yes i guess. i remember hearing something like this at one of my interviews, but not sure which school it was or if this is a common practice.

Extending the deadline for a deposit is not unheard of, for a week maybe.
But explicitly asking for more time cause you are waiting on another school is not a good idea.

Just pay the deposit. If you end up not attending the school you’ll lose like $1000 which is peanut in the grand scheme of dental education.
